Mallorca yacht charters are fully crewed private boat rentals departing from Palma de Mallorca and Puerto Portals, giving your group access to the largest of Spain's Balearic Islands, ringed by turquoise coves and the warm, clear Balearic Sea.
From the marinas of Palma and Puerto Portals a yacht cruises the sweeping Bay of Palma, anchors in the famous calas, or coves, of the south and east coasts, visits Cala d'Or, and can reach the dramatic Formentor peninsula and the protected island of Cabrera. The fleet ranges from 30 foot boats to motor and sailing yachts of 100 feet and more, hosting 2 to 25 guests, with durations from 3 hour cruises to full day voyages. Every charter includes a licensed captain, professional crew, fuel, and snorkel gear, and the warm water sits around 75 to 79 degrees Fahrenheit in summer. Guests arrive through Palma de Mallorca Airport (PMI), one of the busiest in Spain, a short drive from the marinas. We recommend booking early, as the finest yachts and prime summer dates reserve well in advance.

Mallorca has a typically Mediterranean climate with winters that do not get too cold and summers that that can become very hot. However, once you are out on the ocean, the temperatures remain comfortable all year round, with temperatures only dropping to 14 C in the middle of the winter.
Sailing is at its best between April and October, as this is when the island experiences its very best weather. The most popular vacation months are July and August, and you may find it a little overcrowded then. If you have the option, come just before July/August or just after and still enjoy great weather but also avoid the crowds.
Unless you have a vast amount of experience or a nautical license, then you may find it best to charter a boat with a skipper. This will be an experienced sailor with the relevant qualifications and in-depth knowledge of local waters. These guys can be worth their weight in gold and can make your vacation that much more relaxing, dealing with all the tiresome chores.
There is an excellent choice of boats to hire on the island, but obviously, at times of high demand (the peak months), prices will rise, just as off-season they will drop. If cost is a factor, choose your time to visit. W can also advise you on the optimum type of boat to charter, one that meets your needs but also where you are paying the best possible price. I hate quoting prices, but here is a simplified guide to typical rates.
Catamarans
Sailboats
Motorboats
Another factor is that you must book your charter well in advance to get the best deals. Mallorca is an increasingly popular destination, and you should be talking to us as early as you can. For a summer booking, you should begin planning in the previous year, perhaps as early as October.

Choosing the best type of boat to charter is a big decision. We have vast experience in planning charters and understanding which boats work best for our clients. We can work with you and advise you on the perfect boat for your needs, answering any questions you have, and ensuring that you are not paying more than is necessary. If looking for a catamaran you need to be starting your search the previous year, sailboats, late the previous year and the first month or two after Christmas, and motorboats as early as you can, but you can get away with booking a little later
We are perhaps the most flexible people to talk to about chartering a boat in Mallorca. Charters can be from as little as a day or weekend through to a weekly charter or even longer. We don't just operate from Palma (like some others) but have boats located in several ports on the island. That's our job, putting together the optimum package according to your specific needs, and without wanting to be boastful, we have to say that we are very good at it!
Snorkelling is a major attraction in Mallorca!
Mallorca is the Mediterranean's most visited island and, on a private yacht, it reveals a quieter and more beautiful side than the resort-heavy coasts suggest. The island's 550 kilometers of coastline contain dozens of sea caves, hidden coves accessible only by boat, and dramatic cliff faces where the island's limestone mountains fall directly into intensely blue water.
Day Yacht Charters arranges private crewed charters in Mallorca departing from Palma de Mallorca, the island's sophisticated capital with a stunning Gothic cathedral visible from miles at sea, and from Puerto Portals, the exclusive marina tucked into a small bay west of Palma that is known for its glamorous boat-watching scene and excellent waterfront restaurants.
The northwestern coast between Andratx and Pollenca Bay is the most dramatic sailing ground on the island. The Serra de Tramuntana mountains, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, form sheer walls that drop hundreds of meters to the water and create a coastline of extraordinary beauty. The village of Deya hangs on a cliff halfway up and is best appreciated from the water below.
Cala d'Or and the series of small calas on Mallorca's southeastern coast offer calm, protected swimming in water that ranges from pale turquoise in the shallows to deep cobalt blue further out. The Formentor peninsula at the island's northern tip has a dramatic lighthouse and access to some of the cleanest water in the Balearics.
The Mallorca charter season runs May through September with July and August being peak. Many northern European guests charter in late May or September to enjoy the same beautiful conditions with fewer crowds. Contact us to discuss vessel availability and build your Mallorca itinerary.
Mallorca yacht charters depart from Palma de Mallorca and Puerto Portals, reached through Palma de Mallorca Airport (PMI), one of the busiest airports in Spain, with direct flights from across Europe. Marina Mallorca:
The Call of the Sea
On a yachting vacation in Mallorca, you cannot get any closer to the ocean. One of the most popular activities in the waters around Mallorca is snorkeling. The underwater world is just jam-packed with colorful pants and fish. The best snorkeling is well away from the commercial beach resorts, so a visit to one of the island's secluded bays (there are many), well away from the crowds, will be rewarded with some of your best snorkeling experiences.
Possibly the best snorkeling location is the waters around the offshore island of Sa Dragonera. The waters here are teeming with fish (Barracuda, Bream, and Monk Fish}, and you might even get to swim with an eagle ray or turtle.
Cruising these waters on your own private yacht giving you complete access to this undersea wonderland is something you will always remember, as will cruising along the coast of the island, viewing it from a completely different viewpoint. Relaxing on a sun lounger with a relaxing drink, Enjoying your meal with this magnificent backdrop, the salty smell of the ocean, and the sounds of the water splashing against the hull beat any meal you will enjoy on land.
