When you think of Monaco, it is difficult not to think of James Bond. Bond movies have always featured exotic locations and been set in a world frequented by the rich and famous (or more often infamous). The movies are set in places that exude danger and romance, and Monte Carlo in Monaco is the most memorable of all these settings. Two of the favourite backdrops in these movies are the Casino and then, of course, the fantastic marina, where countless yachts are moored, ranging from quite humble vessels to the world's most expensive superyachts. In fact, the very first scene of the very first Bond Movie is set in Monaco (Monte Carlo). It is there where those immortal words "Bond, James Bond"were first spoken.

What to see in Monaco
Monaco is the second smallest state in the world, the first being the Vatican. This small Dukedom is only 1,95 square kilometres, but it is known for its immense wealth.
To add to your James Bond experience, why not hire a Ferrari California T for an hour and cruise the streets of the city in style. It costs just Euro 160 per person. You get a souvenir photo of your experience.
For those of more modest means, there is a Hop on - Hop off bus tour of Monaco. The tour comes with headphones and an audio tour available in a choice of eight languages. See all the sights of Monaco at your own pace. It costs about Euro 25, and you get unlimited on and off from the twelve stops on tour, which cover all the key sights to see in Monaco. You get the opportunity to shop in the designer stores, visit the Japanese gardens, chill out on the famous Larvotto beach (the most luxurious beach in the world). Check out the palace of the Prince; I have particularly fond memories there. There is just so much to see.
The Monte Carlo Casino still exudes style and has a particularly charming atmosphere. Smoking is no longer allowed, and interestingly, Monaco residents are not allowed to gamble there. It is purely aimed at the tourists. The entrance is around $20, and the minimum bet is about $50. There is also a bar where you can have your Vesper Martini, as favoured by James Bond. They also serve other favourite drinks that feature in the James Bond movies. We can't promise that you will meet a Bond villain, but you may be surprised at who you might encounter in this famous Casino.
You may remember James Bond's Tango with Kim Basinger in "Goldeneye" at the Casino, these days a better place to go for dancing is Jimmy Z which is a world-famous club, attracting an array of celebrities and some of the top DJs in the world. The club features a garden with outdoor tables, a floating bar on a lagoon, Even if you don't like to dance, the club is well worth a visit just to sample the friendly ambience.
