ENJOYING SEAFAIR ON A YACHT IS THE ONLY WAY TO GO!

It would be a surprise to find more than a handful of Seattleites who haven't heard about, observed, or participated in the annual Seafair festivities that have happily graced this town for the last 69 years. Seafair has pretty much become synonymous with Seattle summer fun.
For most, it's not a question about whether they want to celebrate, but more about finding the right venue for their needs and expectations. Here's our top 3 reasons why we believe celebrating Seafair on a Waterways yacht takes the cake.
You can't beat the views. It's the only way to be close to all the action without having to camp out before the Seafair festivities begin in order to save a space to place your blankets and lawn chairs, knowing full well it will get encroached upon as the crowds pile in. Our Seafair Air Show Logboom cruise allows guests to be in the center of all the action with front-row views of the Unlimited Hydroplane races and the Boeing Seafair Air show.
A relaxing and fun atmosphere. No need to stress about parking, setting up hours before, or packing a cooler. We have you covered at Day Yacht Charters Seattle. It's an all-inclusive experience, including a cruise, delicious food, drinks for purchase, and views of the Seafair festivities. All you have to do is bring yourself, make sure your phone is charged (for photos), and maybe bring a little sunscreen too.
Seafair Fun Facts
• Seafair is ten weeks long and includes 75 events
• Seafair reaches nearly 2.2 million

Seattle sits at the edge of Puget Sound, one of the largest and most dramatically beautiful estuaries in the Pacific Northwest, and the city's skyline framed by the Olympic Mountains to the west and the volcanic cone of Mount Rainier to the southeast creates one of the most cinematically beautiful harbor approaches in North America. A private yacht charter from Seattle reveals this landscape in a way no land-based experience can match.
Day Yacht Charters operates luxury crewed yachts from Shilshole Bay Marina in Seattle's Ballard neighborhood, one of the largest recreational marinas on the West Coast. The marina faces west across Puget Sound toward the Olympic Peninsula and the Kitsap Peninsula, providing immediate access to open water and excellent cruising ground in virtually every direction.
North from Shilshole, the waterway opens into Possession Sound and eventually reaches the San Juan Islands archipelago about 90 nautical miles north. Day trips to nearby Edmonds, Kingston, and Port Gamble on the Kitsap Peninsula are popular for guests who want a taste of the Pacific Northwest's small waterfront towns.
The Olympic Peninsula's Hood Canal, a glacially carved fjord reaching south from Hood Bay, provides extraordinary scenery with the Olympic Mountains rising directly from the shoreline. Oyster farms line the canal's edges and fresh oysters pulled from the water at the source are a culinary highlight of any Hood Canal charter.
Seattle's charter season runs June through September when rainfall is minimal and summer sunshine makes the Pacific Northwest shine. July and August are peak months. September offers magnificent light and fewer crowds on the water. Call +1 (305) 515-4735 to plan your Seattle yacht charter.
Seattle yacht charters depart from Shilshole Bay Marina in the Ballard neighborhood on Puget Sound, reached through Seattle Tacoma International Airport (SEA), a major gateway with flights from around the world. From the airport the marina is a short drive across the city. We can help coordinate your arrival and transfers to the marina. Call +1 (305) 515-4735 to plan your charter.
Most Seattle charters depart from Shilshole Bay Marina, a large marina on Puget Sound in the Ballard neighborhood, with full marine services and easy access to the open Sound. Elliott Bay Marina, closer to downtown, is another departure point. From these bases a yacht reaches the skyline, the islands, and the mountain views within a comfortable cruise on the protected waters of the Sound. The sheltered setting makes Seattle a natural base for a Pacific Northwest charter. Contact us at +1 (305) 515-4735.
A Seattle charter cruises the protected waters of Puget Sound beneath dramatic scenery. Highlights include the Seattle skyline and the Space Needle from the water, the snow capped peak of Mount Rainier, the Olympic and Cascade mountain ranges, and forested islands such as Bainbridge and Blake Island. To the north lie the San Juan Islands, where orcas and seals are often seen. Harbor seals, porpoises, and bald eagles appear along the way. Your captain designs the route around the skyline, mountains, and islands you most want to experience.
The prime Seattle charter season runs from roughly May through September, when Puget Sound enjoys long, bright days and the driest, clearest conditions, with spectacular views of Mount Rainier and the mountain ranges. Summer evenings are long and beautiful, ideal for sunset cruises. The cooler Pacific Northwest climate makes for comfortable, scenic cruising. The season is popular, so we recommend booking early to secure the finest yachts and prime dates. Call +1 (305) 515-4735.
A standard Seattle charter includes the vessel, fuel for the planned itinerary, a licensed captain, professional crew, all safety equipment, basic provisions such as water and soft drinks, and tender service. Customization options include private chef service with fresh regional cuisine, premium bar packages, and special arrangements for celebrations and private events. We offer flexible packages, some include open bar and some allow you to bring your own beverages. Contact us at +1 (305) 515-4735 to tailor your Seattle charter to your group.
Group sizes range from 2 to 25 guests depending on the vessel. Smaller motor yachts and sport boats from 30 to 50 feet are ideal for couples and intimate groups, mid size yachts from 50 to 70 feet suit groups of 12 to 18 for day charters and celebrations, and larger crewed yachts handle up to 25 guests for group events. The sweet spot for most Seattle charters is 6 to 12 guests. Tell us your group size and we will recommend the ideal yacht. Contact us at +1 (305) 515-4735.

Since Seattle is in the United States, most domestic travelers need only a valid government issued photo ID to fly and join a charter. International visitors should carry a valid passport and, depending on nationality, may need an ESTA travel authorization or a visa to enter the United States. The US dollar is the local currency and English is the primary language. Our team can share general guidance and help you plan timing when you book. Contact us at +1 (305) 515-4735.
Booking is simple. Contact us by phone at +1 (305) 515-4735, by email at info@DayYachtCharters.com, or through the inquiry form on our website, and tell us your dates, group size, and what you would like to do. We will recommend suitable yachts and itineraries and provide a tailored quote. A deposit secures your date and vessel, with the balance due on the charter day. The Pacific Northwest is a region in western North America bounded by the Pacific Ocean to the west and, loosely, by the Rocky Mountains on the east. Though no universally agreed upon boundary exists, a common conception includes the U.S. states of Oregon, Washington, and the Canadian province of British Columbia. Broader conceptions reach north into Alaska and Yukon, south into the coastal and mountainous regions of Northern California, and east into Idaho and western Montana, and western Wyoming to the Continental Divide. Narrower conceptions may be limited to the Northwestern U.S. or to the coastal areas west of the Cascade and Coast mountains.
The Northwest Coast is the coastal regions of the Pacific Northwest and the Northwest Plateau (also commonly known as "The Interior" in British Columbia and the Inland Empire in the United States) is the inland regions. A yacht charter vacation in this region usually includes the areas surrounding the Puget Sound, the second largest estuary in the USA with over 2300 miles of coastline and the San Juan Islands.
Starting at South Lake Union in the heart of Seattle, charters usually cruise Lake Union and through the Montlake Cut, while bridges open for our tall masts. Then sail wherever the winds take you on Lake Washington until returning to Seattle's skyline framed by snow covered mountains.
On your way, check out the houseboats made famous by Sleepless in Seattle, or bald eagles nesting on the tree-lined shore. An ideal way to enjoy Seattle's evergreen wonderland away from the bustle of city streets.
Montlake Cut: The Montlake Cut is the easternmost section of the Lake Washington Ship Canal, which passes through the city of Seattle, linking Lake Washington to Puget Sound. It is approximately 2,500 feet (760 m) long and 350 feet (110 m) wide. The center channel is 100 feet (30 m) wide and 30 feet (9.1 m) deep. The path along the cut was designated a National Recreation Trail as Montlake Cut National Waterside in 1971.[1]
The Cut provides a connection between Union Bay, part of Lake Washington, to the east and Portage Bay, an arm of Lake Union, to the west. It is spanned by the Montlake Bridge, a bascule drawbridge carrying Montlake Boulevard (State Route 513). Most of the land on the north shore of the Cut is occupied by the University of Washington, its medical school to the west and its stadium parking lot to the east; residences and a recreational trail occupy the south bank, which is part of the Montlake neighborhood. It is the site of the annual Windermere Cup crew regatta and the Seattle Yacht Club's Opening Day Boat Parade, both of which take place on the first Saturday in May.
Puget Sound Boat Rental: The Puget Sound region is home to the majority of Washington State citizens who live in the bustling cities and suburbs that extend north to south from Stanwood to Olympia. Most Puget Sound communities lie on either side of the north-south Interstate 5 corridor that serves as the major traffic thoroughfare of the state.
Puget Sound itself is a body of water lying east of Admiralty Inlet, through which ocean waters reach inland some 50 miles from the Pacific Coast to provide all-weather ports for ocean-going ships at Seattle, Tacoma and Olympia. The waterway is a complex and intricate system of channels, inlets, estuaries, embayments and islands.
Ballard Locks: Tourists and locals enjoy watching the parade of yachts, sailboats, motorboats, barges and tugs passing through as the locks' water levels are adjusted to allow for safe passage between the salt water and the fresh water of the ship canal.
Tillicum Village: Tillicum Village is a Puget Sound area visitor attraction located on Blake Island just off the shore of Seattle, WA. It is believed that this attraction dates to the time period immediately preceding the 1962 Seattle World's Fair.
Madison Park: Madison Park is a neighborhood in east central Seattle, Washington, USA, named after the city park at the foot of E. Madison Street on the Lake Washington shore
Estates on Mercer Island: Mercer Island Estates is the largest South End neighborhood located just south of the QFC shopping center and Mercer Island Country Club. This planned community was built in the late 1960s and early 1970s, and includes homes in a variety of styles, including mid-century modern, traditional, and Northwest contemporary. With wide streets and plenty of cul-de-sacs, this neighborhood is popular with families, who also enjoy Wildwood Park and its proximity to the nearby South End shopping center.
Fremont Cut: The Fremont Cut is a body of water that forms part of the Lake Washington Ship Canal, which passes through the U.S. city of Seattle and links Lake Washington to Puget Sound. The Fremont Cut connects Lake Union to the east with Salmon Bay to the west. It is 5,800 feet (1,800 m) long and 270 feet (82 m) wide. The center channel is 100 feet (30 m) wide and 30 feet (9.1 m) deep.
The Fremont Cut is spanned by the Fremont Bridge, a bascule drawbridge that connects the neighborhoods of Fremont and Queen Anne via Fremont Avenue North. A campus of Adobe Systems and the headquarters for Tableau Software are located at the north-eastern quadrant of this intersection of bridge and canal, and an office of Google is located on the north-western quadrant.
Meydenbauer Bay in Bellevue: The Bellevue Marina lies between the foot of 99th Avenue Northeast and 100th Avenue Southeast on the south side of downtown Bellevue. Depending upon the pier, the marina may be accessed from either street. From Interstate 405, take the NE 8th Street exit west. Turn left on Bellevue Way Southeast. Turn right on Main Street and proceed until reaching either the 100th Avenue Southeast or 99th Avenue Northeast intersections (Please note that Main Street turns into Lake Washington Boulevard Northeast at the 100th Avenue Southeast intersection.)
Estate with Full T-Rex skeleton inside: Nathan Myhrvold became fascinated with dinosaurs and visited the filming of the “Jurassic Park” sequel in 1996 and met the film’s consultant and world-leading paleontologist, Jack Horner. Horner convinced Nathan to use some of his Microsoft multimillions to fund a dinosaur bone digging foundation. His foundation has recovered more tyrannosaurus rex skeletons than the total previously found by everyone else. He has given most of them to museums including the Smithsonian. In-side the big rounded windows of his living room he has one of the t-rex skeletons he helped dig up.
Bill Gates House: Originally purchasing the lakefront property for $2 million in 1988, Gates has done everything in his power to ensure his dream home doesn't have a negative impact on the environment. Built into a hill as part of its earth-sheltered design, Gates was concerned about potential runoff from the walls of the massive estate. To combat the problem, he collaborated with the two architectural firms who designed the home to create an artificial stream on the property to catch the runoff. And, in true Gates fashion, he took the design up a notch and has the stream stocked with salmon and trout giving even the wildlife a fisheye view of the most expensive home in America.
Fisherman's Terminal - Fishermen's Terminal is a dock for Seattle, Washington's commercial fishing fleet, on Salmon Bay in the Interbay neighborhood, east of the Hiram M. Chittenden Locks and immediately west of the Ballard Bridge.
Hunts Point & City of Kirkland: Incorporated in 1955, the Town of Hunts Point is located on the eastern shore of Lake Washington just north of the SR520 bridge. Once a camping ground for the Sammamish Indian tribe, this residential community of single-family residences is home to just under 500 residents. Hunts Point is one of the smallest municipalities in Western Washington, yet its bucolic feel and proximity to Seattle and the Eastside help make it a highly desirable place to live.
Seattle Skyline: From 1903 to 1904, Seattle's tallest building and first steel-framed skyscraper is constructed. The Alaska Building, located at the southeast corner of 2nd Avenue and Cherry Street, rises 14 stories
husky stadium: Alaska Airlines Field at Husky Stadium is an outdoor football stadium on the campus of the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington, United States.
