Our boats come fully stocked with water, soda, and ice for your comfort The yachts also come with fuel and a variety of water sports/snorkeling equipment. You have a choice of various marinas in the Porto area to join the boat.
We suggest the following items. Take along: hats to shade your eyes from the sun, sunglasses, and a sweater (in case the evening turns cool), an MP3 player or phone to provide music. Finally an essential is suntan lotion, lots and lots of it at factor 25 at least.
We do not include alcoholic beverages, so bring along your favorite beers, wines, and spirits. Why not buy some local Port Wine to enjoy. You are also very welcome to bring along any food you might require.

There are several marinas in Porto. Two of the biggest are Marina do Freixo, which has 85 slips and located on the banks of the Douro. The other is Marina Porto Atlantico Leixoes, which has 240 slips and is located further north.
With Porto, you can choose to sail in the magnificent river Douro, or with suitable boats, you can cruise along the coast to the beautiful town of Espinho, anchoring off one of the lovely beaches.

There is such a lot to do in the city of Porto, that many people hardly ever think about a beach. But Porto is on the coast and is home to several sandy beaches that are worth a visit.
Porto beaches may not be expanses of beautiful white sand that we dream of but, they are certainly worth a visit, especially since the beaches tend to be surrounded by other exciting places to visit.

This beach is a sandy beach with some rocky sections. It is located in the trendy Foz do Douro district. This area is the place to be seen promenading and enjoying the café culture. The cafes here open late and long after dark it is alive. With an oil refinery just up the coast and the river spewing out debris into the sea, it is not a classic swimming beach, but more of a social center.
Praia do Carneiro is the closest beach to the mouth of the river Duoro, and the breakwater on the beach marks the entrance to the river. The beach is overlooked by the historic “Fortaleza de São João da Foz,” which is a magnificent sixteenth-century structure that was placed there to defend the entrance to the estuary. I include this beach because of its convenient location, but there are better beaches further along the Foz.
Matosinhos beach is the main Porto beach. It has a long stretch of fine sand, and in the summer there are always beach activities. It also has a lifeguard, so swimming here is probably safer, if not up to blue flag standards. It is also a favorite spot for surfing. The beach area is home to some great restaurants.

Porto
Porto is the second-largest city in Portugal and has everything that you might want on vacation. The city is located on the estuary of the Douro river in Northern Portugal. The “Historic Centre of Porto, Luiz I Bridge and Monastery of Serra do Pilar” were proclaimed to be a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1996. Port wine, one of the exports that Portugal is known for, is named after Porto as this was the urban area where it was packaged and distributed from.
The city of Porto was chosen as the “Best European destination” in both 2014 and 2017. And of course for football fans, the city is home to one of the country’s top clubs. (FC Porto).
Over recent years there has been a significant increase in tourism. As of February 2019, over 10% of city income was from tourism. Porto is one of the fastest-growing European destinations for city breaks.

The Grande Lago water is probably the cleanest clear cruising water you will find anywhere in Europe. It is somewhere that you can cruise all year round. As a cruising destination, it features some genuinely unforgettable scenery with several small islets that actually are the peaks of hills that were drowned when the lake was created.
The lake offers 300 days of sunshine every year, all just perfect for cruising on one of the boats that are available in this boating paradise. If fishing is your thing, you can relax on the deck of your boat and catch black bass and carp.

The Douro is one of the most significant rivers on the Iberian Peninsula. The river has its source in Spain and flows to Porto in Portugal. It is the third-longest river in the Iberian Peninsula (following the Tagus and Ebru). The Douro meets the sea at Porto, a UNESCO World Heritage site (the center), because of its architecture and historical significance.
In recent years a popular tourist industry has been built around the Douro river. There are five dams on the Douro within Portugal, and they have been constructed in a way that allows navigation. Boats with a maximum length of 272 ft can pass through all five dams. The highest lock has a maximum lift of 115 feet (Carrapatelo Dam).
Surrounding the river Douro is the Portuguese wine region that carries the same name. This region is associated mainly with Port Wine, but in reality, it also produces the same amount of table wine.
The Douro region is sheltered from the strong Atlantic winds and is a pleasant place to enjoy a boating vacation.
